We yabba-dabba-doo love The Flintstones collection by Jim Shore, and we know you will too – they’re the modern stone-age family!
This beautifully fun new collection of figurines combines all the charm of beloved characters – including Fred Flintstone, Betty and Barney Rubble – with Jim’s own unique style. His signature style is the result of his love of folk art – instilled in him by artistic parents as a child – and reflects the patience he learned from his master quilter grandmother. His stylised florals, careful scrollwork and geometric patterns perfectly complement the clean, simple style of The Flintstones, and adds a colourful, retro chic to the town of Bedrock – itself having been a stylish, fantasy-based reimagining of the past.
Created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, the iconic series began to entertain television audiences on 30th September 1960, and was groundbreaking in its format – being the first animated programme to include a full half hour self-contained story. Previously, such shows had comprised multiple segments, and the dilemmas characters faced, delivered with a wonderful balance of satire and slapstick have ensured that The Flintstones remains as popular today as it was when it first hit our screens.
Have a yabba-dabba-doo time, and take a little piece of Bedrock home with you – whether it’s Twinkle Toes Fred, or the heart-warming Beautiful Bond, featuring Wilma and Pebbles, they are sure to prompt a nostalgic smile and bring out your inner child.
